Built in 1989, this sophisticated, contemporary home has been completely renovated with elegant materials and finishes throughout. The house features an open floor plan that includes a spacious living room/dining room, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and attached garage.

The exterior has a contemporary Mediterranean design, complete with stucco walls and red Spanish roof tiles. A decorative gate from the street opens to a private courtyard that leads to the front door.

Once inside, a welcoming foyer provides a transition to a striking and spacious open living room/dining room. Oversized windows literally flood the space with light, and the soaring ceilings add drama to an already impressive room. Hardwood floors run through the entire lower level and sliding doors off of the dining and living rooms open out to the side and backyard. A wood-burning fireplace completes this lovely space.

The spacious, eat-in kitchen is located right off the living and dining rooms, and has been freshly painted and updated with new white quartz countertops, shaker style cabinets and a white ceramic subway tile backsplash. An island and breakfast bar act as the center of the room, creating a wonderful kitchen for entertaining guests. An additional set of sliding doors opens out to the sun-filled, walled garden, with a built-in raised veggie garden and a pathway over to the outdoor dining and lounge area off of the living room. The tall greenhouse window over the porcelain farmhouse sink brings in even more light.

A bedroom to the left of the entry features a full-length closet, and is perfect for offering privacy for a teen, in-laws, or as a guest room or home office. The tastefully remodeled mail level full bathroom is conveniently located next to this bedroom, and includes a bath/shower combination, ceramic tile floors, elegant lighting and a beautiful quartz vanity top.

A dramatic staircase is located to the right of the front door. Beautiful hardwood stairs go up to a half landing that has four large, fixed windows, and then continue to a second floor balcony landing that offers spectacular views of the main floor. The master bedroom is to the right, and the second en-suite bedroom is to the left.

The master bedroom is very spacious and features new carpeting and a spacious walk-in closet, perfect for a California Closet or Elfa Storage system. The beautiful en-suite master bath has been renovated to include a dual-sink vanity with abundant drawer space and a white quartz counter, contemporary light fixtures, a generous freestanding contemporary tub, and a private WC closet. The large, impressive shower is enclosed on two sides with glass, and the remaining walls have simple white subway-tiles with elegant transparent glass and marble accent tiles and carrara marble hexagon tile flooring.

The secondary, spacious upstairs bedroom is right across the landing, and includes a renovated en-suite bathroom remodeled with the same thoughtful design and finishes as the master suite.

Located in the highly desirable Costa Brava development within Harbor Bay, this home has access to a neighborhood swimming pool, spa, park and community center. Alameda was once a peninsula connected to the Oakland docks. In 1902, a canal was dredged to enable easier shipping access, and that turned Alameda into an island. A little off the beaten track, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. Despite its 80,000 residents, there's still a small-town feeling in Alameda.

A 4th of July Parade, complete with horse-drawn carriages, embodies the small-town feel in Alameda, which has preserved much of its Victorian housing stock, cottages, and central, walkable shopping district along Park Street. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory. Civic pride runs high here; formerly the Carnegie Library, the Alameda Free Library was transformed into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Kids play soccer on former parade grounds of the converted army barracks. Crown Memorial State Beach and Shoreline Drive attract wind surfers.

With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.
